A battle is brewing over a proposed strip club in a Pittsburgh neighborhood.
However, those who are opposed to the club say they aren't upset about the strip club in general, but rather where it would be located.
The proposed club would be on West Carson Street in the West End.
But the 5,000 square foot building there is next door to the Onala Club, which is a facility for recovering alcoholics.
One proposal for the club is to offer free drinks.
City Councilman Dan Deasy says he isn't happy with the proposal.
"Obviously, I have some concerns with the location. Next door is the Onala Club and they've done a great job, they've been there for a number of years," said Deasy. "I think it sends the wrong message. So hopefully we can sit down with those folks and work something out because we just don't think it's the right location."
Meanwhile, the people who proposed the strip club say the timing could be right with the new casino under construction right across the Ohio River.
But Councilman Deasy says he also looks at its West Carson location and sees problems with traffic too.
"With the bridge being right there and a bar, that amount of traffic coming in and out, we think there will be some traffic concerns as well," said Deasy.
Patrick Risha, of Belle Vernon, who has proposed the club told the Planning Commission it would be an upscale operation and this would not be a dive bar in anyway.
The Planning Commission is set to review Risha's application at public hearing next month.
