First Snow Of Season Falling In Parts Of W. Pa.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Western Pennsylvania is getting its first lake effect snow of the season today.   With the coldest air so far this fall blowing over the warm waters of Lake Erie, Northwestern Pennsylvania is getting hit with snow.

Some light accumulations had already been seen by Tuesday morning in Erie and Crawford Counties, and an additional 1-3 inches is expected in the next 24 hours.

As another cold front moves through later today, some of these snow showers will make it into the Pittsburgh area.

These snow flakes will be mixed with rain, so forecasters are not expecting any accumulation, but nevertheless, get ready to see your first flakes of fall.

Stay with KDKA for complete weather coverage.
