Fatal Shooting Investigated In New Castle

NEW CASTLE (KDKA) ― Police in New Castle are investigating after a man was shot Wednesday evening and later died from his injuries.

The shooting happened after 8 p.m. on Altman Road in the Harbor Heights housing units in Lawrence County.

According to New Castle Police, 20-year-old Antonio McKnight, of New Castle, was found on the sidewalk by officers.

He had a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Officials say McKnight was taken to Jameson Hospital and them transferred to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio, where he died early Thursday morning.

The investigation into the shooting continues.

Police are asking anyone with information to call at 724-656-3587.
