Route 28 Reopens Fully Following Blast

HARMAR TWP. (KDKA) ― A blast along Route 28 in Harmar Township that was supposed to stop traffic for only 15 minutes is causing a traffic headache.

Debris shaken loose by the blast spilled onto the roadways below halting traffic in both directions for a time.

PennDOT reopened Freeport Road and the northbound side of Route 28 in the blast area around noon.

The southbound side reopened around 1:30 p.m.

Thursday's scheduled blast has been postponed.
