Police: Home Used To Grow Psychedelic Mushrooms

RANKIN (KDKA) ― Police serving a search warrant in Rankin overnight stumbled upon what they first thought was a meth lab.

But, in the end, it wasn't a drug lab in the home in the 200 block of Division Street.

Rankin Police Chief Brian Wooten says the house was being used to grow psychedelic mushrooms.

It was a very unusual discovery, according to Wooten.

"It's my first in 15 years," said Wooten. "So, it's not very common especially in this area. We see other types of drugs. This is my first."

Police detained two people who were inside the house.
