A former part-time dance instructor at the Propel Charter School in Homestead is facing charges.
Cassandra Sproch, 42, was arrested by Allegheny County Police on charges of indecent assault, corruption and unlawful contact with minors, endangering the welfare of a child and furnishing alcohol to minors.
"I can't believe it, I'm so impressed with this school, it's very shocking to me," Diana Todd of Munhall, who has three children enrolled at the school, said.
Jeremy Resnick, executive director of the charter school, said Sproch worked with students in grades K-8, but said she was terminated in mid-November around the time the alleged crimes took place at her Sewickley home.
According to a police report, she invited several of her students to her home and provided them with wine and then tried to sexually assault two juvenile boys.
The criminal complaint says Sproch told detectives that she gave the juveniles a only small amount of wine, however, she consumed two bottles of wine and didn't recall anything until the next day.
Sproch was put on five years probation last November in federal court and ordered to pay $15,000 restitution. It's not clear how this latest arrest will affect her federal probation.
