Power Outage Leaves Parts Of Pittsburgh In Dark

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― A widespread power outage hit parts of Bloomfield, Lawrenceville, Point Breeze and Garfield overnight.

Duquesne Light crews worked overnight to get the lights back on.

Meanwhile, during the power outage, a Pittsburgh police officer was injured trying to stop a burglary.

The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. at Liberty and Millvale Streets in Bloomfield.

An officer discovered someone had broken into a sandwich shop there.

The patrolman suffered a hand injury trying to stop the burglar but he is expected to be okay.
