A Pittsburgh firefighter has been suspended without pay following what police call a dangerous and violent incident at a city park.
The incident happened at a baseball field in Brookline after a little league game ended.
According to police, Pittsburgh firefighter Michael Clark was waving a gun in the air threatening to shoot two men.
"It's very disappointing you know. Here we are, we got a firefighter that's supposed to be a public safety official waving a gun at a little league game and it's very disheartening to me and I was very disturbed when I read the report," said Public Safety Director Michael Huss.
The report indicates that after police took away Clark's gun, they found marijuana in his car.
Clark, who currently works out of a North Side fire station, has been with the department for a number of years and has had other disciplinary problems, but nothing this serious.
The drugs found in his car raised concerns of union leaders.
"The illegal substance is and I was concerned about that for the safety of firefighters you work with as well as the safety of the citizens," Joe King, president of the firefighters union, said.
"I hope this is a wake-up call for this individual as well as everybody else, that you are held to a higher standard 24/7," he added.
The gun Clark carried is licensed. He faces misdemeanor marijuana and public disturbance charges.
He also faces departmental charges.
His suspension could last up to 30 days.
