Defense Ends Testimony In Oral Surgeon's Trial

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The defense has wrapped up testimony in the case of Dr. Robert Boyda Jr. without calling the defendant to the stand.

Boyda, a Mount Lebanon oral surgeon, is charged with sexually molesting many of his patients.

Seventeen former patients testified that they were molested by Dr. Boyda in his offices while recovering from the effects of anesthesia.

Regarding those who have accused the doctor, defense attorney Bill Difenderfer said the effects of the anesthetic Proporfol can cause vivid sexual dreams and that the victims did not experience sexual molestation – they dreamed it.

The case resumes Thursday with prosecution rebuttal witnesses.
