I-79 Ramp To Outbound Parkway West Opens Today

This ramp will finally open today.

There's good news for some drivers heading toward the airport.
The long-awaited ramp from Interstate 79 southbound to the outbound Parkway West will open today.
The ramp is one of the two missing ramps that weren't built when Interstate 79 was originally built.
The opening means drivers on I-79 no longer will have to exit at Route 60 and travel a two-lane highway to get to the Parkway West outbound.
The ramp from the Parkway West inbound to I-79 northbound will officially open on December 9 after a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The ramps are part of the $67.5 million Parkway West missing ramp project.
In other traffic news, the new Boulevard of the Allies bridge into Oakland will also open today.
