The Parks Conservancy broke ground on a trail and sign improvement project in Frick Park on Monday.
Frick Park and its many trails have offered people an escape for years, but some of the trails now need renovations.
However, Frick Park isn't the only park in need of repairs.
Damage done to the Lower Panther Hollow Trail in Schenley Park is also in need of repairs.
Those renovations will begin in November, due to $3 million in federal grant money that made the project possible.
The Parks Conservancy is calling it the Sign Improvement Project.
Crews are expected to install about 100 new signs in the four regional parks that will give clearer directions and educate users about the parks.
Most of the work should be completed by the middle of 2010.
