Non-Surgical Alternative To Liposuction?

Call Healthy Touch Massage Therapy @ (724) 779-8924

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The older people get, the more they get thigh fat, back fat and ripples.

Some people go for liposuction, but others can't face surgery.

There's a new way that some people say is a great alternative to plastic surgery called lypossage.

KDKA consumer editor Yvonne Zanos says even though there's no surgery involved, you'll still need your plastic.

Lypossage is pricey, generally costing about $1,500 for six weeks of treatment. It's still nowhere near the cost of liposuction. It's also non invasive, seems risk free, but not necessarily pain free.

Lypossage is a cellulite blasting massage.

"It's an aggressive massage you use skin rolling and heavy precoastment on the body," said Debra Aretz, of Cranberry. "It breaks down the adhesives and they flow out through the lymphatic system."

The procedure is getting some good reviews.

Vicki Bell says it made a big difference in her body.

"Big difference on the arms and back area - and that's really what I wanted," Bell said. "I was unhappy with the way I was looking and now I'm happy."

Bell says this is not a weight loss program.

"I only lost six pounds, but I lost 18-and-a-half inches - arms, legs, back and middle."

Debra arts is a certified lypossage practitioner, and emphasizes lypossage is no instant cure.

"Eighteen sessions, three times a week for six weeks," Arts said.

Arts says it's a good thing because she's breaking down Bell's cellulite and helping rid her body of toxin build up.

"We want you to drink 34 ounces of water to 64 ounces of water because it helps flush the system and stay away from caffeine because it hinders the burning of stored fat," Arts said.

The first few sessions can be uncomfortable.

"It did hurt, but after a while you want that," Bell said. "The harder the better.

"It feels wonderful. It is addicting. When I'm done I feel so relaxed."
