Man Admits To Relationship With Teen In Letter

NEW BRIGHTON (KDKA) ― A man from Beaver County is facing some serious charges after investigators say he admitted to having a sexual relationship with a teenager in a letter to the girl's mother.

Police say they have charged 28-year-old Machi Douthett, of New Brighton, with statutory rape, corrupting a minor and deviate sexual intercourse.

Officials say Douthett is accused of having a relationship with a 14-year-old girl from November through January. 

In May, Douthett wrote a letter from jail to the girl's mother admitting a relationship.

Police say the girl, who was not identified, told them the relationship was consensual and they had sexual relations five or six times.

Douthett is currently being held in the Beaver County Jail on $30,000 bond.
