Report: Pa. Drivers Rank Low On Smart Drivers List

MORE: National Driver's Test

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― National rankings say Pennsylvania no longer has the worst roads in America, but a new report says those roads could use some smarter drivers.

The "National Driver's Test" says Pennsylvania falls towards the bottom of the pack when it comes to knowing basic rules of the road.

"It's mixed," says local driver Ben Rosati, of Bridgeville. "Anywhere, you're going to have good drivers, you're going to have bad drivers. It depends on the person."

"I think the drivers around the city are generally courteous, certainly better than Chicago or New York," added Ron Bargiband, of McMurray.

Once again, GMAC insurance tested 5,000 drivers with the rules of the road.

Topping the list of states with the smartest drivers were Idaho and Wisconsin followed by Montana and Kansas.

Pennsylvania is ranked at a lowly 36th place.

That's behind West , which cam in at 28 and Ohio at 34.
