KD Country: FX Antique Toy Roadshow

MOON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) ― How much can you get for that old Barbie doll or vintage G.I. Joe stuffed in a box in your attic?

You have one more day to find out.

KDKA's Dave Crawley went to an antique toy appraisal at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Moon Township to see who's cashing in with old toys.

Mark Leinberger, a Trafford native, who now lives in Florida, sorts through the toys of childhood past. His FX Antique Toy Roadshow buys vintage toys which are then sold to collectors.

"A toy needs to have three things to be what we call collectible. Number one, it has to have a certain level of desirability, has to have a certain level of rarity, and finally it has to have a certain level of condition," Leinberger said.

Some people are hoping to sell their old toys, like good old Mr. Robot, to get money for new toys, which their kids and grandkids will probably bring to an event like this in 50 years or so.

One couple has Barbie and Ken dolls. Their names are Barb and Ken Urban.

The Barbie doll did have value, but Ken had problems.

"Shiny face like this little sticky tacky thing. And then he's got a little male pattern baldness going there too," Leinberger said.

The Urbans received an off of $340 dollars and they took it.
