Dozens of volunteers served the less fortunate this Christmas.

Local needy and elderly people had a place to go today for a warm, holiday meal thanks to the Salvation Army and hundreds of volunteers.
About 2,000 people were expected to eat a free Christmas Day gourmet meal served at five local hotels: The Westin Convention Center; The Omni William Penn; Marriott City Centre; the Sheraton Station Square; and the Renaissance Pittsburgh.
About 400 volunteers took part in the Salvation Army's 22nd Annual Christmas Day Dinner Program.
It provided holiday meals, a free phone call and other treats to those who would otherwise not have the opportunity to celebrate a proper Christmas.
