Investigation Into Baby's Death Continues

PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) ― Police continue their investigation today into the death of a 10-month-old child at a daycare center in Garfield on Friday.

According to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office, the little girl, Marcia Poston, died from blunt force trauma to the head. Her death has now been ruled a homicide.

On Friday, police say the baby was found unresponsive at Bray's Family Daycare.

Investigators say, a 7-year-old girl allegedly picked up the baby and threw her to the carpet-covered cement floor.

Authorities say a 20-year-old caregiver was supervising the children in the daycare. But police add that she was upstairs changing another child's diaper when the incident happened.

The 7-year-old girl is set to undergo a psychological evaluation. Pittsburgh police say she may be suffering from anger-management issues.
