Police Investigate Oakland Home Invasion, Shooting

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Allegheny County police are investigating a home invasion and shooting today that left one person wounded.

Authorities say two armed men broke into a home in the 200-block of Atwood Street.

According to police, the men fled the scene on foot and ran through the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex.

"It is believed they were met with the victim of the home invasion. It is unsure if there was any type of altercation or if one of the actors was injured in the process of fleeing the scene, but one of the actors was shot in the leg," said Sgt. William Vollberg, of the Pittsburgh police.

The man who was shot was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and was later arrested by police.
