G-20 Resistance Project Opens Information Center

GREENFIELD (KDKA) ― Organizers with the G-20 Resistance Project have set up an information center.

The Resist G-20 Convergence Center is on the corner of Murray and Hazelwood Avenues in Greenfield.

They've got plenty of posters and pamphlets, but it's not clear what they'll be organizing or how many people will come.

However, they have announced an unpermitted march in Lawrenceville Thursday afternoon and published sites targeted for action on Friday, like PNC Bank and Starbucks.

Noah Williams, a spokesperson for the group, says their goal is not to harm people. They just want to be disruptive.

"We are the local people here. These are our communities too," he said. "We're not trying to attack the people in them who are forced to work in these systems that are oppressing us and oppressing people around the world."

He adds that they are not calling for violence.

While the Pittsburgh G-20 Resistance Project's space is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., they have established guidelines – no drugs or alcohol. They also want people to respect the neighborhood.
