Downtown Bus Service To Change For G-20 Summit
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―
People who normally ride a bus to downtown Pittsburgh will find their routes stop short during the G-20 Summit.
Port Authority CEO Steve Bland says the buses will run into downtown, but once they arrive there will be some major changes.
All buses coming from the east, north and west will be funneled onto the Boulevard of the Allies.
"If you have to make a transfer say you're coming from the north and going east chances are you'll be making that transfer along Boulevard of the Allies," Bland explained.
"T" service will end at the First Avenue station.
With all of the buses picking up and dropping off passengers on one street, there's expected to be a lot of congestion.
Officials are advising riders to leave home early and expect to get home late.
Meantime, all routes will operate as normal outside of downtown.
