Fiery New Stanton Crash Injures Two

NEW STANTON (KDKA) ― A two-vehicle accident involving a well-drilling truck and an SUV in Westmoreland County sent two people to the hospital earlier today.

Officials say the truck and SUV collided, causing a fire near New Stanton.

A medical helicopter was called to the scene and two people were flown to local hospitals.

Officials say a woman was driving the SUV and a man was inside the truck at the time of the crash, but he was able to get out of his vehicle before it caught fire.

The fiery crash forced crews to shut down the northbound side of Toll Road 66, but the roadway has since been reopened.
