Woman Killed In Lawrence County Crash

HICKORY TWP. (KDKA) ― A woman from New Castle was killed in a crash Saturday night in Hickory Township, Lawrence County.

State Police say 69 year-old Patty Conner was killed when the car she was riding in was hit by another vehicle along Route 108 around 8:15 p.m.

Walter Conner, 74, was driving westbound on Route 108 when he attempted to make a left turn and was struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by 25 year-old Aaron Zentz, of New Castle.

Walter Conner was injured and flown to St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio where he was last listed in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

Patty Conner was pronounced dead at Jameson Hospital in New Castle.

Police say Zentz was arrested for DUI and charges will be filed pending blood results.

Our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette report that Zentz's blood alcohol content was .227.

He suffered minor injuries.
