Local Teen Killed In Allegheny Twp. Accident

ALLEGHENY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) ― Police are investigating after an accident in Westmoreland County claimed the life of a local teenager on Saturday evening.

The one-vehicle crash was reported just before 8:30 p.m. on state Route 4048 in Allegheny Township.

According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, 17-year-old Emily Blystone, a student at Lenape Tech in Armstrong County, was killed.

Investigators say she was going east when she lost control of her mother's vehicle and traveled off the the side of the road.

Authorities report that Blystone's car hit a culvert and a tree before the vehicle stopped.

Officials with the Coroner's Office say Blystone died of multiple blunt force injuries, according to the Post-Gazette. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Allegheny Township police are investigating.
