One Killed In Somerset Co. Crash

JENNER TWP. (KDKA) ― One person was killed Saturday afternoon in a crash in Somerset County.

The accident happened around 2 p.m. on Route 30 in Jenner Township.

State Police say 61 year-old Merrill Pendergast will killed when she attempted to pass another vehicle and crashed head-on into an on-coming vehicle.

Pendergast was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two people in the other vehicle sustained serious injuries.

Dwight and Emma Gilber, both 63 years-old, of Stoystown, were taken to Conemaugh Hospital.

Police say Pendergast was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The investigation into the crash continues.
