Home In Stanton Heights Shooting In Foreclosure

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The house in Stanton Heights where three Pittsburgh police officers were shot and killed in April is now in foreclosure.

The mother of the suspect in those shootings, Margaret Poplawski, was sent a foreclosure notice last week.

Poplawski has 20 days to respond to the letters.

The home on Fairfield Street has been vacant since the shootings happened and nearly $55,000 in principal and late fees is owed on it.

The house is now boarded up.

Several neighbors said they want to see the house demolished.

The foreclosure is only in the complaint stage and it could take at least five to six months before the sheriff's sale.
