Fallen Hero Remembered At Mass

OAKLAND (KDKA) ― Pittsburgh Police Officer Paul Sciullo, the second officer killed in the line of duty on April 4 in Stanton Heights, was remembered at a special mass Tuesday.

His alma mater, Central Catholic High School invited students, alumni, family and friends and the Pittsburgh Police Department to a mass to remember the officer and all who serve in public safety.

Officer Sciullo was remembered as a Central Catholic High alum and one of the city's biggest heroes.

In the Catholic calendar, Tuesday marks the feast of St. Michael. With that, the mass Tuesday was dedicated to the men in blue.

Office Sciullo's mother and father sat inside of the high school's gym turned sanctuary.

A fellow officer and Central Catholic graduate was also at the service. He said it's only fitting that the mass was celebrated there.

"Central is not just a tradition, it's a lifestyle and we are taught during the course of our school days that this tradition will lead you onto greater things in your life and this is just something we build upon and I think Paul took that to heart," Sgt. William Gorman said.
