FBI Agent Killed During Drug Raid Round-Up
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―
An FBI agent was shot and killed during a major drug raid in our area this morning.
The agent was shot while trying to serve a warrant on Woods Run Road in Indiana Township, officials say. Robert Korbe was arrested and is now in federal custody.
Police say they were targeting between 30 to 35 suspects in this morning's bust and most of them wanted for allegedly dealing and distributing crack and cocaine.
The drug raid was a coordinated effort between federal authorities, state and city police.
According to police, officials managed to arrest at least 24 of the suspects. Nearly all of them were brought to city police headquarters on the North Side where they were questioned and processed.
Several of them are expected to appear in federal court later this afternoon.
Officials say one of the first people police brought in was Nadine Russo, of Beechview, who is the former girlfriend of boxer Paul Spadafora and the mother of his child.
Spadafora was convicted of shooting Russo back in 2003, in McKees Rocks.
Also, this past June, Russo was charged with setting fire to her own car for insurance money.
None of the other suspects arrested in today's raid have been identified.
