Toddler Drowns During Holiday Picnic

CLEARFIELD TWP. (KDKA) ― A Fourth of July picnic took a tragic turn in Cambria County on Friday.

State Police say 21-month-old Cheyanne Dively, of Williamsburg, Pa., drowned in an above ground pool during a holiday outing with family.

It happened at a home on Krug Road in Clearfield Township on Friday afternoon.

Family members found Cheyanne in the pool and provided aid until medics could arrive on scene.

She was taken to Altoona Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The cause of death was asphyxiation associated with accidental drowning.
