Could There Be Competing Drink Tax Referendums?

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― There may be two drink tax referendums on Allegheny County's November election ballot.

A group of bar owners plans to deliver a petition with 23,000 signatures to the county elections office today.

The group's referendum would ask voters if they want to reduce the drink tax from 10 percent to no more than one half of one percent.

A referendum approved by county council asks voters to choose between the drink tax and a higher property tax.
