County Council To Take Up Drink Tax Referendum

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―  Allegheny County Council will take up the drink tax again tonight.

A proposed referendum will be up for debate after a council government reform committee voted to send the proposal back to the full council.

Council wants to put a question on the ballot in November asking voters to decide between the drink tax and higher property taxes.

A group of bar and restaurant owners is working on its own ballot question.
