Two Killed In Lawrence County Crash

NORTH BEAVER TWP. (KDKA) ― Two people are dead after an accident on Tuesday evening in Lawrence County.

It happened around 10 p.m. on Columbiana Road in North Beaver Township, just west of Smalls Ferry Road.

State Police say a vehicle traveling east left the roadway and struck a tree while speeding.

The driver, 26 year-old Gerald Murgerger, Jr., of Enon Valley, was ejected from the vehicle.

He was flown to St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio, where he later died.

A passenger, 22 year-old Christina Hammond, of New Castle, was trapped in the wreckage and pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into the crash continues.
