Two people are dead after an apparent murder-suicide in Indiana County.
Rodney Wagner, 38, allegedly shot and killed 40-year-old Kimberly Romagna in the living room of her home in the 200-block of Hancock Street in Clymer Tuesday morning.
State police used cell phone signals to track Wagner to his home in Dixonville where a standoff went on for hours.
"He had his cell phone and he also we believe took the victim's cell phone with him," Trooper John Matchik said. "We utilized different techniques to ping those cell phones, to locate them."
When authorities entered the home, they found him dead. The coroner said it appeared that Wagner shot himself in the head.
Friends of Romagna said she and Wagner dated for about three years, but according to the coroner's office, she recently broke off the relationship.
The victim's mother got a call from Wagner. He allegedly confessed to shooting Romagna and then told her he planned on killing himself.
