Church Fire Cause May Never Be Known

The cause of the fire that destroyed the Grace Baptist Church may not be determined due to the extent of the damage.

The cause of a fire that burned down a church in Fayette County early Friday morning cannot be determined.
According to a statement from Thomas Maher who investigated the fire, the fire damage was too extensive to rule a cause.
Maher estimates the damage at $200,000.
Volunteer firefighters from nine departments rushed to Grace Baptist Church in Rowes Run, near Grindstone to put out the blaze.
A newspaper delivery woman saw the flames before dawn and called for help.
Don Johnson, a deacon at the church, says it's not the first time the church has had to deal with destruction as years ago, a tornado ripped off the roof.
No one was hurt in the fire.
