Local Doctor To Continue Cell Phone Dangers Study

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Following a recent advisory about the dangers of cell phones, UPMC Doctor Ronald Herberman is now announcing a research project on the long term effects.

Dr. Herberman made worldwide news last week when he became the first U.S. Cancer Center Director to issue an advisory to staff and faculty about the potential health risks of cell phone use.

He now hopes to obtain cell phone records from companies to identify long-term users who might be especially at risk for health problems like brain tumors.
