Residents Allowed Home After Carbon Monoxide Scare

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― People living in an apartment building in Shadyside have been allowed back into their home after a carbon monoxide scare.

Hazmat crews say that there were extremely high levels of carbon monoxide in the basement of a building on Kentucky Avenue Thursday night.

Officials say someone was reportedly using a pressure washer with the doors closed in the basement and that caused the detector to go off.

Everyone was able to get out of the building safely during the evacuations.
