Downed Power Line Causes North Park Brush Fire

A downed power line from Sunday's wind storm has caused a brush fire in North Park.

The fire burned in the woods near the skating rink.

Allegheny County police said they asked Duquesne Light to turn off the power to the line.

Police were concerned the fire could spread or injure someone.

Officials with Duquesne Light say crews did check out the line, but at the time it was only a sagging line and there was no danger at that time so it was lower on its priority list.
