Grandma Jailed For Putting Child In Dog Crate

WASHINGTON, PA (KDKA/AP) ― A Washington County woman is accused of locking her grandson in a feces-filled dog crate.

Police say 51-year-old Rhonda Lehman, of Washington, put the 10-year-old boy in the crate for 90 minutes Saturday, after he laced the family's drinks with lamp oil and household cleaner.

The boy apparently was angry with his family.

Police say Lehman also told a county agency she would bury the boy alive in the back yard if someone didn't come for him.

The boy's 24 year-old brother is charged with punching him.

Lehman, who is charged with child endangerment and terroristic threats, and the boy's brother are in jail on $25,000 bail.

The child is now with the county's child welfare agency.
