Beer Sales Coming To Other Local Giant Eagles
(KDKA)
Beer sales have been approved at six more Giant Eagle grocery stores in the area.
The store in South Strabane, which already has a license, is set to begin selling beer on Friday.
Meanwhile, stores in West View, Pine Township, Monroeville, West Mifflin, Homestead and a store in Erie could see sales next month.
The six additional stores were approved for licenses Wednesday. They will all start selling beer Dec. 18 subject to Liquor Control Board inspections.
They will also be joining the new Market District store in Robinson Township, which was the first Pittsburgh-area supermarket to sell beer.
"Following up on our first launch of beer sales at Robinson Township Market District, we found the customers really appreciated the convenience of beer sales," said Rob Borella, Giant Eagle spokesperson. "So, we are happy to bring it to additional locations around Pittsburgh."
The store plans to offer more than 200 brands of beer to customers.
