Money Lost At Md. Beach Returned To Local Couple

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― There was a happy ending to a local couple's vacation nightmare and it's all thanks to an 11-year old Delaware girl.

Michael Chosky, of Swisshelm Park, and his wife were at the beach in Ocean City, Maryland, when he lost a Ziploc bag that contained his credit cards, his driver's license and $1,000.

He had the bag in the pocket of his swimsuit but somehow it washed away.

"We thought it wasn't coming back," said Chosky. "We thought it may have washed a shore. We didn't know who would find it. We were at the mercy of God at that point."

One week after returning to Pittsburgh, Chosky got a call from Rowan Short, of Wilmington, Del., who found his valuables and then tracked him down.

The couple offered to give Short half the money but she would only accept $20.
