Suspect Sought In Kittanning Bank Robbery

KITTANNING (KDKA) ― State police in Armstrong County are searching for a suspect following a bank robbery Friday.

It happened just before 6 p.m. at the F&M Bank in the Hilltop Plaza in Kittanning.

According to police, the suspect had a small box in a plastic bag when he walked into the bank.

Authorities say "the suspect handed the teller a note that demanded money and indicated that there was a bomb in the box."

The suspect was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of money, officials said.

He is described as a white man, 5'7" to 6' tall, 150 to 175 pounds, between 30- to 40-years-old with a light complexion, short hair and was clean shaven.

He was wearing tan pants, a gray sweater and a tan hat.
