Infant Cut From Womb Leaves Hospital

PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) ― An infant who was cut from a slain woman's womb in Wilkinsburg has been released from the hospital.

A spokeswoman for West Penn Hospital confirms the baby's release.

Andrea Curry-Demus has been charged with homicide, kidnapping and related offenses in an alleged plot to steal the baby boy.

Police say the body of the baby's mother, 18-year-old Kia Johnson, was found bound in Curry-Demus' home last week.

That was after authorities say Curry-Demus showed up with the baby at the hospital, initially claiming it as her own.

The family has named the boy Terrell Kian Johnson, after his mother.

Hospital officials won't say who got custody of the baby.
