Man Killed When Tree Falls On Car

WESTMORELAND CO. (KDKA) ― A man is dead after a tree came crashing down onto his car in Westmoreland County during Sunday's stormy weather.

The accident happened around 6 p.m. on Greensburg/Mount Pleasant Road near the Westmoreland County Fairgrounds.

Authorities say the tree fell onto the roof of the car and the victim was pinned inside the vehicle.

Police identify the victim as Ronald Bates, of Greensburg.

He was transported to Westmoreland Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
