Air Show Takes Off At 911th Airlift Wing

MOON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) ― The skies over Pittsburgh were loud and filled with non-stop action as the first day of the 'Wings Over Pittsburgh' Air Show got off to a high-flying start.

The show is back for its eighth year at the 911th Airlift Wing in Moon Township.

This year's show offers demonstrations and displays, including the Canadian Forces 4-32 Demonstration Squadron, the Snowbirds, or the Air Force's newest fighter aircraft, the F-22 Raptor, and a virtual battlefield.

And the people who came out to the show were excited.

"I like watching the acrobatics and I like watching the jets. They go so fast," said Cathy Niebel, of Ohio Township.

"I think it's incredible," said Bryan Marzzarella, a Marine from Crafton. "Obviously, a lot of training goes into it. A lot of dedication and like we just saw, a lot of patriotism, for them to come out and support military, support our country."

The 'Wings Over Pittsburgh' Air Show continues Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission and parking are free.
