The 911th Airlift Wing in Moon Township was humming with activity today in preparation for the annual 'Wings Over Pittsburgh' show this weekend.
Excitement is buzzing for the show that includes 20 separate aerial acts.
The show will include Canada's precision aerobatic flying team, The Snowbirds. They will be joined by the U.S. Air Force's new F-22 Raptor Fighter Jet as well as aerial acrobats like F-16 pilot Major John Klatt and two military parachute jump teams, the Army Golden Knights and the Navy Leap Frogs.
"This year is a celebration of things," says show organizer, Shawn Walleck. "It's the 60th anniversary of the Air Force Reserve Command. It's also the 60th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift, which was a tremendous feat in aviation history."
The show is the largest single free event held in Pittsburgh every year.
The attractions aren't all in the air. Organizers say there are over 40 static displays on the ground, including planes you can explore inside and out, and a new exhibit, The "Virtual Army Experience."
