'Wings Over Pittsburgh' Flies High This Weekend

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― This weekend the skies of Pittsburgh will be filled with excitement at the annual "Wings Over Pittsburgh" Air Show in Moon Township.

Coraopolis' 911th Airlift Wing will host the eighth annual event this Saturday and Sunday, May 10 and 11.

The Canadian Forces 432 Demonstration Squadron, Snowbirds will being flying high above the event.

The Snowbirds, whose jets reach speeds of up to 470 miles and fly within four feet of each other, are making their first appearance at the Wings Over Pittsburgh event.

The F-22 Raptor, the Air Force's newest fighter aircraft, will also make an appearance along with the Air Force Reserve's Jet Car.

The Geico Skytypers will write messages in the sky with Pittsburgh's Steve Kapur serving as pilot.

Wings Over Pittsburgh runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Admission and parking to the air show are free.
