Most Stores In Westmoreland Mall Reopen
All but 7 stores are back open to shoppers
GREENSBURG (KDKA) ―
For the most part, it's back to business as usual today for shoppers and workers alike at the Westmoreland Mall in Greensburg after a major water main break sent water pouring into the ground floor.
An 8-inch main line to the mall ruptured around 9am yesterday morning, flooding at least 30 stores on the first level.
About half of the mall's stores had to close due to ankle-deep water.
While most of the affected stores were able to reopen last night after a major clean-up effort by volunteer firefighters, those with carpet instead of tile flooring were taking longer to dry out.
Nearly all the stores are open as usual today.
Seven stores in the area where the break occurred, however, remain closed.
