Young Brothers Killed In Crafton Heights Fire

PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) ― Two young brothers are dead after they were trapped in a bedroom during a fire in Pittsburgh's Crafton Heights neighborhood.

The boys' mother, 28 year-old Aisha White, was able to save a third sibling, but suffered burns over 30 percent of her body.

She was last listed in serious condition at UPMC-Mercy Hospital and is expected to survive.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner says the dead boys are 10-year-old William White IV and 4-year-old Jordan White.

The surviving sibling, 2-year-old Paige, wasn't hurt but information on how she's being cared for hasn't been released.

Police say the children's father was shot and killed outside a bar last year.

Fire Chief Darryl Jones says authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.

Jones says the home had working smoke detectors.
