Juror's Letter Talks About Deliberation Process

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― A letter from a juror in the federal trial of Dr. Cyril Wecht says that a majority of the jurors were in favor of convicting him on some charges.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the letter says jurors were split, 6-to-5, in favor of convicting Wecht on 17 of the 41 charges.

After 11 days of deliberations, jurors said they were deadlocked and the judge ruled a mistrial.

Wecht has been ordered to stand trial a second time. That trial has been scheduled to begin May 27.
