Slain Damon's Worker Was 'A Great Kid'

WEST MIFFLIN (KDKA) ― Friends and family of 19-year-old Brian Lee, who was killed at the Waterfront this weekend, are still trying to come to terms with his death.

Like most people his age, Lee was just beginning to find his way. He was happy with his job at Damon's Grill. Everyone that knew him loved him.

Yellow roses adorned Lee's red and black Mustang in remembrance of a man trying to live his life the right way.

The life was stolen early Sunday morning as Brian was helping his manager close Damon's for the night.

He graduated last year from West Mifflin Senior High School and he studied building trades as she prepared for a career as an electrician at Steel Center Vo-Tech School.

Les Smith, Assistant Director of Steel Center Vo-Tech, and his staff are shocked by what happened. He was going over Brian's records and found nothing but positive remarks.

"He was a very good student here. He was well-mannered, a nice young man. We are deeply saddened by this. I'd like to extend condolences to his family. Our hearts reach out to them," Smith said.

The Damon's manager went to Lee's family to explain exactly what had happened and said Brian had done everything right. One of his co-workers said Brian was a great kid and he will be deeply missed.

"A good dude." That's how Brian's dad described his son.

Mr. Lee has a lot to say but can't find the words right now. But the tears filling his eyes and rolling down his cheeks speak volumes about his boy he will bury on Thursday.
