Pittsburgh Area Students Involved In DC Bus Crash

WASHINGTON (KDKA) ― A weekend trip for some local students to the nation's capital didn't go as planned.

About a dozen students from West Junior High School in the Woodland Hills School District were injured Friday when the two buses they were riding in collided on the George Washington Parkway near Washington, D.C.

According to police, the lead bus stopped suddenly to avoid hitting another vehicle.

That caused the second bus to rear end the first bus.

Seven students were treated at the hospital but none of the injuries was serious.

The trip continues for the students.
